ACTZ Cosmetics - bath & body goodies! Floating Marshmallow Soap, Sugar Scrub, Body Butter, Cupcake soap & more! pics, swatches, reviews

Hello, Beautiful!

I was recently sent a great little box from ACTZ Cosmetics of their bath & body goodies. In the box were several products to sample and try - with my favorites being the Floating Marshmallow Soaps and the Shea Butter Sugar Scrub! I wanted to go ahead and write up a review of each product they sent me, seeing as how I really liked some of these!! This is a long post, but filled with lots of product information and my reviews. Check out my full review on each product, including all the product info, after each set of pics!

ACTZ Cosmetics

ACTZ Cosmetics uses some cute and unique packaging, as well as super adorable soaps! They have a really fun, wide range of soaps and body products to choose from -- including a lot of yummy looking soaps.

One thing I want to point out is that they packaged all this in a box and instead of using bubble wrap, those paper wormy things, or packing peanuts, but instead they used actual popcorn - the edible kind. It certainly wasn't greasy or buttery, so no worries there, but it was a bit messy. Just something I wanted to mention because I've never seen that before. I guess if you were hungry you could eat it, lol.

As a bonus, they included a card in the box that included a 50% off store-wide coupon code!! That's a huge discount! The online code, in case you want to save 50% off on your order, is Cupcake50

I definitely plan to take advantage of that code in the near future!

ACTZ Cosmetics
Floating Soaps - Marshmallow Collection
Scents: Softly Coconut, Winter Gingersnap (has the sprinkles)

ACTZ Cosmetics Floating Soaps - Marshmallow Collection Info & Review:
Cost/Availability: $6.50 to $7.00 depending on which one you want. They say on their website that the price is "per marshmallow gift box (set of 3 Jumbo Mallows)". I believe these can be purchased in sets of 3, 6 or 12. Available on the ACTZ Cosmetics website.
My Rating: 5 out of 5 Kisses!

These adorable mallows smell as yummy as they look. The kids will have a blast washing their hands up or splashing in the tub. These are a soft, fluffy feeling soap. You can take a whole mallow in the tub or pinch a piece off; however you use them, just have fun!

The best part is these soaps float! No sinking bars of soap to the bottom of the tub! They dry out overnight so you can use them again for even more bath time fun the next day!

Available in several scents, which I believe change out throughout the year depending on the season. Right now, here are the scents available for purchase on their website: Toasted Marshmallow made with USDA Organic Certified Marshmallow Root, Mini Marshmallows & Chocolate Milk, Cotton Candy, Kitchen Sink, Sleigh Ride, Minty Rosemary, Frosty Forest, Gingersnap, Neapolitan, and Candy Cane.

They also sell Jumbo Floating Marshmallow Soap, and it says the "price is per Gigantic Marshmallow Bar gift box" but it doesn't say how many pieces you get. There is a drop down menu with a few scent selections: Roasted Chestnuts, Cinnamon & Sugar, Pumpkin Pie, Monkey Burps, and Cherry Almond. Click here to check this option out.

They also sell a Marshmallow Drying Dish so your floating soaps can dry out without touching the tub. The cost is $6.25 and you can check it out on their website by clicking here.

I was sent two bars of their Floating Marshmallow Soaps: Coconut and Gingersnap. On their website, Gingersnap doesn't have the sprinkles that my Gingersnap does. My son loved the Coconut scent, where as I felt the Gingersnap scent was more "marshmallow" scented, and I liked that one more - even though I typically love coconut scents.

They have a really cool soft, fluffy, marshmallow-like texture. Sort of spongy and very lightweight. They do float! Which my son was absolutely LOVING. I loved pulling these apart for the photos - to me, it made them look yummy enough to eat!

They soap up nicely, and I actually don't recommend pulling pieces off to use because they fall apart too easily that way. Leave them whole, or even a half if you really want to break them apart (because they're a fun texture to do that with, lol).

ACTZ Cosmetics
Sugar Scrub - Butter Layers Collection
Shea Butter Sugar Scrub
Scent: Mango Sorbet

ACTZ Cosmetics Sugar Scrub Butter Layers Collection Shea Butter Sugar Scrub Info & Review:
Cost/Availability: $25.00 for a full size jar. Available on the ACTZ Cosmetics website.
My Rating: 5 out of 5 Kisses!

Sugar scrubs are used not only for skin exfoliation, but also for cleansing. One advantage is that they do not clog the pores and are easily absorbed into the skin. They leave skin clean and smooth because they are packed with the goodness of alpha-hydroxy, which is essential for glowing skin. Paraben, propylene glycol and phthalate and nitro musk free.

I was sent a little sample packet, which they do sell in a 3-pack for $23 and you get to choose which three scents you want to try out. They say the three packets equal almost a full size jar, so it's not a bad deal if you want to try out a few scents. Click here if you're interested in that deal.

The sample packet is a good idea, but once you open it you can't re-seal it so you have to be careful with storing it or de-pot it into a jar (which is what I did). It came with a little "spoon", which are just those little wooden paddles you'd get with those generic ice cream cups (which I thought was a cute way to do their packaging). It does help to scoop out the product, but realistically I would never use it past the first time.

The full sized jars are available in many scents. I was sent Mango Sorbet and I really like it!! It's a very refreshing tropical scent.

The texture is really nice for a sugar scrub! It's actually what I love about this product the most. It's thick, but super soft and creamy. It's thick enough that I could turn it upside down on the spoon and it won't drop off. Absolutely in love with the texture -- makes me want to try others for sure in full size!

The full size jars are literally layered with sugar and butter layers, which mix together to make that magical combination that I am in love with from this sample packet. Not sure if this is how it would feel exactly if I had a full size, but I do like it all mixed together. They say you could scoop out just extra sugar if you want a coarser scrub, or just extra butter for a more gentle scrub. I'm just happy with the mix!

ACTZ Cosmetics
Glycerin Soap "Shower Candy & Desserts"
Soapy Cupcake
Shade: Roasted Chestnut & Brown Sugar

ACTZ Cosmetics Glycerin Soap "Shower Candy & Desserts" Soapy Cupcake Info & Review:
Cost/Availability: $4.50 & up per cupcake, depending on style. Available on the ACTZ Cosmetics website. Also available in sets (details listed below).
My Rating: 4 out of 5 Kisses

Oh-so-yummy Soapy Cupcakes are topped with a whipped soap frosting to pamper skin and leave it feeling silky soft. Cute and fun! Use the frosting together or separate.

I'm not sure if I were sent a mini or the "Soapy Cupcake Gifts" size, which is larger than a mini but not as large as the regular size. Mini's are sold on their website for $2.75 each. Click here to check those out.

Aside from purchasing these individually, they're also available for purchase the following ways:
  • 1 Dozen mini Soapy Cupcakes - $30
  • 4 Pack of Soapy Cupcakes (regular size) - $22
  • Soapy Cupcake Gifts - $4.50 each (bigger than the mini's but not as large as the regular size)
  • Mini Cupcake Set (4 minis) - $11
  • Cupcake Twin Pack (regular size) - $12
It comes really cutely packaged, making this a great gifting item! My "frosting" part was covered with a candy liner -- which is a cute idea but left a brown color on the top of my pretty white cupcake frosting. Not a big deal to me, but if I were gifting these I would want it to look just as cute and delicious as they do on the website.

I didn't really love the scent, but it wasn't awful by any means. I'd certainly like to try other scents - and they have many others to choose from. Each scent has a differently decorated cupcake. Would make great party gifts too depending on the theme.

The base of the cupcake is a harder soap, where as the icing is a fluffy, soft, almost marshmallow texture.

ACTZ Cosmetics
Avocado & Shea Butter Body Butter
Scent: My Little Cupcake

ACTZ Cosmetics Avocado & Shea Butter Body Butter Info & Review:
Cost/Availability: $12.00 to $16.00 for full size bottles. Available on the ACTZ Cosmetics website.
My Rating: 4 out of 5 Kisses

Formulated to penetrate the skin and moisturize deep within leaving your skin feeling moist and beautiful. Will not leave you feeling stick or greasy. Paraben-free.

I was sent a little trial size, which oddly enough comes in one of those acrylic craft paint tubes. It's a cute idea, but I could easily mix this up with my paints, lol. I really think the packaging is a cute idea; never seen this type of packaging for a lotion.

This has a very whipped, thick, smooth, creamy texture. It melts into skin so beautifully and leaves it feeling soft and smooth. I wasn't a fan of the scent "My Little Cupcake", but I'd like to try this in a different scent more to my taste. They even offer this in a fragrance free version!

ACTZ Cosmetics
100% Natural Cold Process Soap - mini trees
Scent: Sugared Spice

ACTZ Cosmetics 100% Cold Process Soap Info & Review:
Cost/Availability: $ prices vary depending on bar of soap. Available on the ACTZ Cosmetics website
My Rating: can't really rate this, as I didn't personally use this

ACTZ Cosmetics Hand-made Cold Process Bar Soaps are handmade using no chemicals or drying agents. Though they do stock a few thousand bars of hand-made soaps, sometimes they go out of stock. They pour handmade bar soaps daily, and allow them to dry on a rack for 2 to 5 weeks prior to shipping. So in the event a bar you purchased is on the drying rack, you will receive an email informing you about curing ETA and shipping time.

I was sent two mini trees, which I couldn't find on their website, in the scent Sugared Spice. They're cute little trees, but I HATED the scent. It's definitely a holiday scent, sort of reminded me of Christmas tree scent with something else. Either way, I really didn't like the scent so I didn't even want to use this soap. I didn't want to waste it, so I gave it to a friend who said they'd use it but I never heard back a review and wanted to get my blog post up so if I ever hear back from them I will update this post with their review.

These are hand made, which I like the look of - that kind of flawed appearance yet they look really nice. There was a hair in one of the soaps, but it's bound to happen (I guess) with handmade items. Not a huge deal to me; I'd just scrape that area off and it would be all good - after all, it's soap, it cleans itself.
